Gian Luca Colombo Langhe Nebbiolo – Piedmont, Italy
Producer's notes:
Made from one vineyard over fifty years old, a picky vineyard, strong and complex that I am still trying to get to know. The goal is to bottle a wine with more and more definition and cleanliness.
Maceration for 25 to 50 days at controlled temperatures at times with submerged cap. 100% in big Austrian barrels, sometimes also in terracotta. Bottled after 12-14 months.
What we say:
From the talented young winemaker Gian Luca Colombo in the Langhe, this Langhe Nebbiolo offers refined Nebbiolo character at more accessible terms. Sourced from select hillside vineyards close to Barolo terrain and crafted with a minimalist hand, it balances elegance and structure.
On the nose you’ll find aromas of wild cherry, raspberry, rose petal, hints of anise and fresh mineral. The palate is poised and sophisticated—medium-bodied with fine tannins, lively acidity, vibrant red fruit, and a long finish that reveals both elegance and longevity.
Grape variety: Nebbiolo
Style: Elegant, perfumed, cool-climate Piedmont red
Drink window: Now–2030
Perfect for: Truffle-enhanced dishes, roast game, porcini risotto, hard cheeses, or confident everyday drinking with serious style
Nebbiolo refined: serious pedigree without the Barolo price tag.
