Producer's notes: 

All the Riesling grapes are hand-harvested, gently pressed whole bunch, and their musts are left overnight to settle naturally, before being racked and fermented with ambient yeasts in old 1,000-liter Fuder casks and a couple of 500-liter Halbfuder. The father-and-son team of Erich and Johannes Weber eschew herbicides and favor low yields—just one short “flat” or non-arched cane (Flachbogen) per vine—to produce an array of dry (trocken), off-dry (feinherb), and fruity Saar Rieslings, which represent mostly cask-by-cask bottlings.

A feather-light, brilliantly refreshing Saar Riesling, im Kleinschock AP 20 comes from the small, steep parcels of the Niedermenniger im Kleinschock vineyard - one of the cooler, more delicate sites in Falkenstein’s lineup. As always with the estate, everything is done with a gentle hand: organic farming, native fermentation, long élevage in old fuder, and no manipulation. The result is a Kabinett of remarkable clarity and precision.

The nose is bright and inviting, with aromas of lime peel, white peach, green apple, and delicate floral tones carried by the vineyard’s signature cool-slate minerality. On the palate, it is weightless yet expressive: crisp Saar acidity perfectly balances the wine’s natural sweetness, creating a gliding, crystalline texture. The finish is long, airy, and quietly complex, showing the finesse of this unique sub-parcel.
