Producer's notes: 

All the Riesling grapes are hand-harvested, gently pressed whole bunch, and their musts are left overnight to settle naturally, before being racked and fermented with ambient yeasts in old 1,000-liter Fuder casks and a couple of 500-liter Halbfuder. The father-and-son team of Erich and Johannes Weber eschew herbicides and favor low yields—just one short “flat” or non-arched cane (Flachbogen) per vine—to produce an array of dry (trocken), off-dry (feinherb), and fruity Saar Rieslings, which represent mostly cask-by-cask bottlings.

As always at Falkenstein, this wine is made with an utterly traditional, minimalist approach: organic farming, spontaneous fermentation, long elevage in old fuder casks, and no unnecessary intervention. The result is a Riesling of purity, finesse, and unmistakable Saar brightness.

The nose is lifted and elegant, with aromas of lime zest, white peach, apple blossom, and cool, smoky slate. On the palate, it glides effortlessly - brisk, crystalline acidity softened by just a touch of natural sweetness, creating the classic feinherb harmony of fruit, freshness, and minerality. The finish is long, delicate, and wonderfully mouthwatering.
