Mas Coutelou ‘Couleurs Réunies’ Co-Ferment - Languedoc, France

Producer's Notes:

This unique wine is a blend of white grapes, black grapes, pink grapes and everything in between. Varietals include 'lost' vines of Languedoc, once grown widely but since overtaken by other, more popular varieties. An archive of Languedoc viticulture, this wine drinks like a red - but is much more than just that.

What we say:

Wild, joyful and completely unbound by convention, this co-fermented field blend brings together red, white and grey grapes in one ferment, creating a wine that sits somewhere between red, rosé and something entirely its own. Aromatically, it’s bursting with forest berries - blackberry, raspberry and cherry, layered with garrigue herbs, a touch of spice and a lightly earthy, funky edge. The palate is vibrant and fluid, with juicy fruit, bright acidity and a gentle grip, showing both freshness and surprising depth, finishing savoury, slightly wild and hugely moreish.

Made from a mix of rare, heritage Languedoc varieties (including Terret Noir & Blanc, Castets, Moristel and Ribeyrenc Gris), harvested by hand and co-fermented with native yeasts, it’s a true expression of low-intervention winemaking. Vinification is deliberately hands-off, often in concrete or fibreglass, and the wine is bottled unfined, unfiltered and with little to no added sulphur, preserving its raw energy and sense of place.

Grape Variety: Field blend (red, white & grey varieties incl. Terret, Castets, Moristel & Ribeyrenc Gris)

Style: Red (best served chilled) – Medium-bodied, fresh, low intervention

Drink Window: Now – 5 years

Perfect For: Charcuterie, grilled vegetables, picnic fare, slightly chilled summer drinking

A beautifully chaotic (in the best way) natural wine - vibrant, expressive and a true snapshot of Languedoc’s past and future in one bottle.
