This dry Riesling is categorized as 'GG' or 'Grosses Gewächs' which denotes the quality of the vineyard site, essentially recognized as the German version of 'Grand Cru'.
This vineyard sits atop a high, steeply elevated hill with the grapes coming from 110 year old ungrafted vines that have been rescued and cultivated by hand. Each vineyard worker must be secured with climbing equipment before descending the hillside, due to the near-vertical elevation of the vineyard.
Notes of white pepper, pineapple and salt. Mineral, rich and with an intense structure and acidity.
