Qué Vida Viura Orange - Rioja Alta, Spain
Producer's Notes:
This wine pays homage to the first orange wines, made in Georgia more than 4,500 years ago. 9 months skin contact brings aromas and flavours of mandarin, grapefruit, thyme and white pepper.
What we say:
Fresh, vibrant, and lightly adventurous, Qué Vida Viura Orange is a bright, easygoing skin-contact white that showcases Viura’s citrusy charm in a more textural, aromatic style. Made with a short period of skin maceration, it offers gentle tannic grip, lifted aromatics, and a playful, modern take on Spanish white wine.
The nose is expressive and inviting, with notes of mandarin peel, apricot, white tea, and subtle floral tones. On the palate, it’s crisp and lightly textured - medium-light in body with zesty acidity, soft stone-fruit flavours, and a touch of spice from the skins. The finish is dry, refreshing, and pleasantly grippy, making it an excellent introduction to orange wine.
